India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri shared important “lessons” for both countries as they mark 75 years of diplomatic relations. The event took place at the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi, with Chinese Ambassador Xu Feihong and the Indian Foreign Secretary cutting a cake to celebrate the occasion.

Key Highlights of the Foreign Secretary’s Speech:

  1. India and China share cultural and civilizational ties dating back to ancient times, with significant contributions from historical figures.
  2. The importance of peace and tranquility in border areas for fostering strong bilateral relations.

  6. The three-fold formula of mutual respect, mutual sensitivity, and mutual interest as the basis for rebuilding ties.
  7. Promising beginnings seen in the last five months should be turned into tangible benefits for both nations.
