Amaravati/Hyderabad: Early on Thursday, the Andhra Pradesh police arrested senior YSRCP leader and former Bapatla MP Nandigam Suresh. The arrest took place near Hyderabad, and it was in connection with an alleged attack on the TDP office back in 2021, according to an official statement.
The Guntur district superintendent of police, S Satish, provided some details about the situation. He confirmed that the former Parliamentarian was taken into custody on the outskirts of Hyderabad around 1 am on Thursday.
First Arrest in Connection to 2021 TDP Office Attack

To provide some background, in October 2021, scores of YSRCP cadres allegedly targeted the TDP headquarters situated in Mangalagiri. They ransacked it due to alleged abusive remarks made by TDP leader Pattabhiram Kommareddy against the then chief minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Serious Charges Filed Against the Former MP
The Andhra Pradesh police wasted no time and shifted Suresh to the Mangalagiri police station in the Guntur district. He is now facing several charges, including an attempt to murder.
According to the SP, Nandigam Suresh will be presented in a local court on Thursday. The police are also actively looking for others involved in the 2021 attack.
The implications of this arrest are yet to be fully understood, but with the arrest of such a prominent political figure, it is expected to stir considerable discussion and movement within political circles.
