Breaking News: FIR Filed Against Tibetan National for Rape and Criminal Intimidation
An FIR has been lodged by an NRI against a Tibetan national at the Women Police Station in Dharamshala. The charges include criminal intimidation and rape, as confirmed by SP Kangra.
Victim’s Medical Tests Underway
The victim, an NRI, is currently undergoing medical tests and will provide a judicial statement regarding the incident. SP Kangra, Shalini Agnihotri, mentioned, “In the women PS of Dharamshala, an FIR was registered with the charges of criminal intimidation and rape. The victim is an NRI, and her medical test and judicial statement are required, we are completing those requirements today.”
She further added, “We have started interrogating the accused and are exploring all possible angles. The accused is a Tibetan national, while the victim is an NRI. The verification process of their documents is currently underway. We are also in touch with the Tibetan office for further assistance.”
Investigation Ongoing
The accused, a Tibetan national, has been interrogated by the police, who are diligently investigating all aspects of the case. Ms. Agnihotri emphasized that the verification of documents belonging to both the victim and the accused is a priority.
The police are maintaining regular communication with the Tibetan office to ensure a thorough investigation process. Further updates on the case are awaited as the investigation progresses.
Recent Incident in Delhi
In a separate incident, a British woman was allegedly raped by a man she had met through social media in Delhi. The victim approached the police, leading to the arrest of the accused on rape charges and his accomplice on molestation charges.
The woman had travelled from the UK to meet the accused and booked a hotel room in Mahipalpur area of Delhi. After a confrontation with the man, she was allegedly raped by him. Upon trying to leave the hotel, another man molested her in the lift.
Delhi Police have taken both suspects into custody and informed the British High Commission about the incident.
