In a recent development, six MLAs from the Naga community in Manipur met with Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla to discuss the issues faced by the people. The MLAs promised to support efforts for peace and expressed confidence in the Governor’s leadership to bring peace and normalcy to the state.
Naga MLAs Meet Manipur Governor
The six legislators who met with the Governor were Awangbow Newmai, Khashim Vashum, Losii Dikho, Leishiyo Keishing, J. Kumo Sha, and Janghemlung Panmei. They shared their concerns and assured their cooperation in maintaining peace in the region.
Support for Internally Displaced Persons
Additionally, representatives from the Churachandpur Meitei United Committee, led by co-convenor Naba Ningthoujam, also met with the Governor. They submitted a memorandum requesting support for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from the district living in relief camps.
The committee highlighted the hardships faced by the IDPs and emphasized the need for assistance. The Governor assured them that their grievances would be addressed promptly.
This meeting signifies a step towards addressing the issues faced by the Naga community and other displaced persons in Manipur. It shows a collaborative effort between government officials and community leaders to work towards peace and welfare for all residents.
