Aligarh:
A leader from Karni Sena has been in trouble for offering a reward of Rs 25 lakh to anyone who kills Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Ramji Lal Suman, as per the police report on Thursday.
The accused, known as Mohan Chauhan, made this announcement after Suman made a controversial statement about the 16th-century Rajput king Rana Sanga.
Chauhan, in a video, stated that the MP would face consequences for his actions and declared the reward.
The video has been circulating on social media since the last week of March. Chauhan also mentioned that he would personally carry out the act if given the chance.
A complaint was filed by Aarti Singh, the SP Mahila Sabha chief in Aligarh, at Gandhi Park police station on March 29.
However, the case was transferred on Wednesday to Jawaan police station, where Chauhan resides. A formal case has now been registered, and an investigation is underway, according to the police.
