The unfortunate incident took place in Ramnagar village, under the jurisdiction of the Bundi Sadar police station. The family came into contact with a high-tension power line that was dangerously close to the roof of their house.

Lok Sabha Speaker and Kota MP Om Birla expressed his deep condolences over the loss and assured the family of full support. He spoke with the grieving family over the phone and instructed officials to carry out a thorough investigation. He also promised appropriate compensation for the victims’ family.

Victims of the Tragedy

The calamity struck during the morning hours when Karmabai Kanjar, a 35-year-old woman, was cleaning the rooftop of her home. While sweeping, Karmabai accidentally touched the high-tension power line overhead, as detailed by DSP Bundi City, Amar Singh.

Her young son, Kartik, and 15-year-old nephew, Akshya, rushed to help her but met the same tragic fate. Both boys were electrocuted instantly. In a desperate attempt to save his family, Karmabai’s brother Pawan climbed to the roof, only to be shocked himself. Thankfully, Pawan survived, but he sustained injuries in the process.

Family’s Plea for Justice

The grieving family accused the Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JVVNL) officials of negligence. They called for a criminal case to be registered against those responsible and demanded compensation for their unbearable loss.

Police Actions and Official Response

The authorities quickly responded to the tragedy. Circle Inspector Bhagwan Sahay Meena mentioned that a case of unnatural death had been registered in accordance with the relevant sections of the BNS Act. Additionally, officials from the power department were summoned to the site. They were directed to relocate the high-tension power line to prevent any further mishaps of this kind.

In conclusion, this tragic event has shaken the community in Ramnagar village. The loss of lives, especially young children, is profoundly heartbreaking. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla’s engagement with the affected family and his directive for a fair probe offers some solace. The community hopes that the safety measures, once implemented, will prevent such incidents in the future.
