Thinking of iPhone 15? 4 Reasons to Hold Out for iPhone 16!

by Vidarbh Gupta

Are you thinking about buying the iPhone 15? Wait a moment! Here’s why you should consider holding off for the iPhone 16 series, which Apple will reveal at the ‘It’s Glowtime’ event on 9 September next month. Although there’s plenty of buzz about the iPhone 15, the new iPhone 16 lineup might be worth the wait.

The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are set to receive major upgrades compared to the current models. While the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus use the A16 Bionic chip that debuted with the iPhone 14 Pro, the new iPhone 16 series promises to bring even more impressive changes.

Interestingly, the new Action button introduced to replace the mute switch on the Pro models was missing in the iPhone 15 base models. But this is about to change. Apple aims to bring the iPhone 16 base models closer to the Pro models.

Let’s take a look at four key reasons why waiting for the iPhone 16 could be a smart move.

Performance of iPhone 16

The base models of the iPhone 16 will see a big boost in performance. Apple might use the A18 chip, which is found in the Pro models, in the base versions too. However, the chip could be configured differently for each model. This means the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus might have fewer cores for the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) compared to the Pro models, but they will still be a big upgrade over the previous generation.

To further enhance performance, Apple might provide 8GB of RAM in the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, up from the 6GB found in earlier models. This extra RAM is necessary for running advanced intelligence features.

Design of iPhone 16 and iphone 16 plus

The look of the base iPhone 16 models could see some changes. The rear camera module on the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus might be aligned vertically instead of diagonally. Additionally, Apple could introduce new color options for these models.

Apple Intelligence

Apple’s suite of artificial intelligence features is set to roll out across the entire iPhone 16 series. These new Apple Intelligence features will include tools for text generation and summarization.

The new AI-powered features will not stop there. The series will include the Image Playground app for generating images from prompts, Genmoji for creating emojis using AI, and OpenAI’s ChatGPT integration into the operating system. Moreover, the series will feature an upgraded AI-powered Siri with even better natural language processing capabilities.

Functionality

The base iPhone 16 models are expected to include sophisticated “Pro” elements. The capacitive Action Button, which replaces the mute switch on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone Pro Max, is rumored to be included in the base models of the iPhone 16 series. Unlike the mute switch, which only lets you toggle between sound profiles, the Action Button will offer a wide range of functions and customization based on your preferences.

That wraps up the four major reasons why you might want to reconsider purchasing the iPhone 15 and instead wait for the iPhone 16 series. With its promise of better performance, improved design, advanced AI features, and enhanced functionality, the iPhone 16 could be a noteworthy step up from its predecessors. As the launch date nears, more details will likely emerge, but for now, it might be wise to hold off on that iPhone 15 purchase until you see what the iPhone 16 has to offer.
