Shilpa Shetty Receives Legal Relief After 11 Year Case
The world of film stars and legal troubles have always been closely connected. Shilpa Shetty, a well-known Bollywood actress, has had her fair share of controversies over the years, often involving her husband Raj Kundra or due to some of her statements that sparked controversy. Back in 2013, during a TV interview, Shilpa made a comment that stirred a lot of controversy and led to an FIR being filed against her in Rajasthan under the SC/ST Act. However, after 11 years, the Rajasthan High Court has finally provided relief to the actress by dismissing the FIR filed against her in this case.
Shilpa Shetty’s Legal Victory
During a TV interview 11 years ago, Shilpa Shetty made remarks that were deemed casteist and offensive towards the underprivileged community. This resulted in public outrage and a police case being registered against her. The recent ruling by the Rajasthan High Court revealed that there was insufficient evidence to support the claims made in the FIR against Shilpa. The court stated that there was no intention on the actress’s part to insult the underprivileged community.
Shilpa’s lawyer, Prashant Patil, explained, “Shilpa had already issued a public apology for her remarks, which were later misrepresented. Taking this into consideration, the court decided to cancel the FIR, clearing Shilpa Shetty of any wrongdoing. This legal victory comes as a relief for the actress after facing the repercussions of this case since 2013.”
Salman Khan’s Involvement
Shilpa Shetty and Salman Khan share a close friendship, both on and off-screen. During the controversial TV interview where Shilpa made the contentious remarks, Salman Khan was also present. However, Salman’s name was not implicated in this case.
