Starting at the tender age of 23-24 as a casting director, Abhishek initially took on this role to cover his living expenses. He began his casting career with the production company Cinemastas, earning a modest salary of Rs 9,000. Abhishek even worked as a casting associate for the Emraan Hashmi starrer "Once Upon a Time in Mumbai." He admitted that he hoped his work in casting would eventually land him acting roles, but this dream took nearly eight years to materialize.

Despite his skills as a casting director, Abhishek faced numerous challenges. He mentioned that when he sought acting gigs from other casting directors, they wouldn’t recommend him.
