Aap Ki Adalat, hosted by the seasoned journalist Rajat Sharma, will have the ever-controversial actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut gracing the show. Kangana, known for her striking performances, is returning to the show after a long gap of nine years. Over the years, she’s been very outspoken on several socio-political matters. This time, she’s making headlines again with her upcoming film “Emergency,” where she plays the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. While on the show, Kangana also didn’t shy away from talking about Bollywood’s biggest Khans and the films they offered her.
When Rajat Sharma, asked Kangana if Aamir Khan ever offered her a role, Kangana revealed, “Salman had offered me a role in ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, and Shahrukh offered me a part in ‘Zero’.”
Kangana shared, “In 2006, when I was struggling for roles, no one offered me anything—not even secondary roles. But when my movie ‘Queen’ was a success in 2014, the offers started to come in. I felt I had carved out a separate opportunity for myself, much like Vyjayantimala and Sridevi did in their time. Will Aamir Khan let me deliver the best performance I am capable of? Salman is larger than life, and the temptations are there—they are giants in the industry. Salman is a dear friend, and Aamir is very nice.”
Rajat Sharma pressed further, asking if Kangana ever turned down a role from Akshay Kumar. Kangana confirmed, “Akshay Kumar offered me a role in ‘Singh is Bling’. As a female actor, I created my own existence in the industry. Nobody wants to make a movie about an old woman who was thrice our Prime Minister.
India Press Live’s Editor-in-Chief, Rajat Sharma, questioned if Kangana had rejected offers from all the Khans, all the Kumars, and all the Kapoors. She responded, “Earlier, I used to beg for roles, going from place to place.”
Will Kangana Leave the Film Industry for a Political Career?
When asked whether she would be leaving films for politics, Kangana replied, “Filmmaking is an all-consuming job, and politics is also very demanding. Since the day I joined politics, I haven’t done even a day’s shooting in the last six months. I am trying to balance both, but let’s see what happens. People in the Mumbai film industry will be happy thinking ‘Kangana bhaag jayegi’.”
Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film “Emergency,” which she directs and leads, will soon hit the screens. The movie also features Anupam Kher, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, and the late actor Satish Kaushik.
