Ayushmann Khurrana with brother Aparshakti Khurana is over the moon with the success of his latest film, “Stree 2”. He has revealed that he and his older brother, the famous actor Ayushmann Khurrana, have been eagerly waiting to work together on a film for a long time. Now, it looks like their dream is finally coming true in Maddock Films’ highly successful horror-comedy universe.
Aparshakti reprised his role as Bittu in “Stree 2” while Ayushmann is set to take on the role of a vampire in the upcoming movie “Thama”, originally titled “Vampires of Vijay Nagar”. Both films are part of producer Dinesh Vijan’s ambitious film franchise, which also includes “Bhediya” and “Munjya”.
A Long-awaited Collaboration
“We had been waiting for so long to work with each other in something that’s good,” Aparshakti shared with PTI. “And what can be better than a world which has been created? Something that has never happened in Indian filmmaking where there’s this world in which so many great characters will come together and will stay in people’s hearts. There’s something very special coming your way very soon.”
A Coincidental Casting
Interestingly, Ayushmann’s entry into the horror-comedy universe wasn’t pre-planned. Aparshakti explained, “We didn’t go up to the producers asking them to take us together in a film. We had finished shooting for ‘Stree 2’ and this new film came to Ayushmann after that. So, all these characters will meet up, and when that happens, will we be shown as brothers or not, what will happen? There are many questions.”
Future Projects for Aparshakti
After “Stree 2”, Aparshakti is now gearing up for his next venture, a spy drama titled “Berlin”, which will be available on ZEE5. He is also in discussion about reuniting with Vikramaditya Motwane, the director of “Jubilee”, on a few upcoming projects.
Ayushmann’s Big Plans
Ayushmann, on the other hand, has a packed schedule with several big projects. He will be seen in the highly anticipated “Border 2”, starring Sunny Deol, which is currently in its pre-production stage. Additionally, Ayushmann is set to feature in Anubhuti Kashyap’s directorial “Sunday” alongside Janhvi Kapoor and Angira Dhar.
The Sourav Ganguly Biopic
Among his future projects, Ayushmann is reportedly going to star in a biopic about former Indian cricketer and skipper, Sourav Ganguly. This film will surely be one to watch out for, given Ganguly’s significant impact on Indian cricket.
Both Aparshakti and Ayushmann have a lot on their plates, but fans are particularly excited about their collaboration in Maddock Films’ horror-comedy universe. Whether they will play on-screen brothers or not remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure: their fans are in for a treat.
Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting collaboration between the Khurana brothers!
