Key Details of the Project

KPTL’s project is no small feat. It involves developing a transmission line that stretches roughly 298 kilometers (596 circuit kilometers), installing a 300 MVAr STATCOM, and setting up three inter-connecting transformers with a capacity of 3×1500 MVA at 765/400 kV level. Additionally, the project will have bus reactors with capacities of 1×330 MVAr at 765 kV and 1×125 MVAr at 420 kV.

A Strategic Move by AESL

This acquisition by AESL shows their commitment to enhancing value for shareholders through both organic growth and buying existing opportunities. AESL is not just growing; they are strategically picking projects that can drive their mission forward.

Renewable Energy Focus

One of the primary goals with KPTL is to facilitate the evacuation of 7 GW of renewable energy from the Khavda Renewable Energy park. This will be part of the Phase IV, Part A package. It’s an ambitious and much-needed initiative considering the growing focus on renewable resources.
